Alex
Horne

Comedian

Award-winning comedian Alex Horne is the creator and co-host of the Dave TV/Channel 4 show Taskmaster which returned for its twelfth series in 2021. Since its inception, the series has been nominated for International Emmy and Royal Television Society Awards, as well as winning Best Comedy Entertainment Programme at the 2020 BAFTA Awards and Best Entertainment Show at the Broadcast Awards in 2018. The success of the show has led to Alex publishing the Taskmaster book and the release of The Board Game.

In a corporate setting, Alex is a fantastic choice as an awards host or to perform after-dinner cabaret comedy. His material is light on controversy and swearing and heavy on clever wordplay and gloriously silly games with the audience.

Alex is the creator and frontman of The Horne Section with whom he has a chart-topping podcast. Alex Horne Presents: The Horne Section sold out five consecutive years at the Edinburgh Fringe and continued as a BBC Radio 4 show for three series. They have made multiple appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and are the only band to have hosted Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

Alex’s additional television appearances include Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled (Dave), Dara O’Briain’s School of Hard Sums (Dave), Celebrity Mastermind (BBC1), Celebrity Chase (ITV), and Drunk History (Comedy Central). He also wrote and presented BBC 4 documentary The Games That Time Forgot.

An Edinburgh Fringe veteran, Alex has taken nine solo shows to the festival, including the award-nominated Monsieur Butterfly and Making Fish Laugh.
