York born writer, comedian and two time actor Rob Auton has ideas, writes them down and says them to audiences at comedy nights, poetry nights and at theatres at night. Rob has been standing up and saying his piece to audiences up, down and across the British Isles since 2008. He has written seven five star rated Edinburgh fringe shows, 2012’s The Yellow Show, 2013’s The Sky Show,  2014’s The Face Show,  2015’s The Water Show, 2016’s The Sleep Show, 2017’s The Hair Show, and 2018’s The Talk Show (the second best reviewed show at the Edinburgh Festival 2018).

He has performed his unique brand of comedy on The Russell Howard Hour(Sky One) and on Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central (Comedy Central). The latter set going viral on Facebook with 4.7m views at the time of writing.

Rob has had three collections of writing and illustrations published by Burning Eye books and has had his poetry turned into short films and shown on Channel 4.

Rob made his television acting debut as a corduroy jacket wearing poet in ITV’s Cold Feet 2018. Rob also starred in and co-wrote the short film The Peamaster which was nominated for best short film at the 2012 Milan Film Festival. Rob was a finalist for The Arts Foundation Spoken Word Award and a winner of a Three Weeks Editors Award in 2017. He is a regular poet at Bang Said the Gun (voted best poetry night in the UK by The Times). Rob will embark on his biggest tour to date from 1st February to the 29th April 2020, playing his new comedy/theatre/spoken word show over 29 dates nationwide.
