Television and Broadcasting Career

Iain Stirling first built his on-screen profile through CBBC, where he became a familiar and highly engaging presenter for younger audiences before co-writing and hosting The Dog Ate My Homework. That show became a key part of his early broadcasting reputation and helped earn him the Children’s BAFTA for Presenter of the Year in 2016, followed by the RTS Scotland On Screen Personality award in 2018. Alongside his broadcasting career, Iain Stirling has developed a substantial reputation as a live stand-up comedian. An Edinburgh Festival Fringe favourite, he has performed six critically acclaimed shows, including U OK Hun? X, which sold out its full Fringe run in advance. His stand-up special Failing Upwards launched on Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories, and his later live show Relevant became his biggest tour to date, extending across the UK, Ireland and the United States.

IainStirling has also expanded into scripted comedy as the co-creator, writer and star of his very own of ITV2 sitcom Buffering. The series was co-created with fellow Avalon comedian Steve Bugeja, giving a natural editorial bridge to another existing Avalon artist page while also underlining Stirling’s credentials as a writer-performer rather than simply a presenter. Across touring, television and authored projects, he has built a career rooted in contemporary observational comedy, polished delivery and strong mainstream visibility.

Podcasts, Books and Other Projects

Iain extensive audio and publishing work further demonstrates his versatility as a performer. He currently co-hosts the BBC Sounds true-crime podcast Murder They Wrote alongside Laura Whitmore, following the pair’s earlier podcast Partners In Crime.

He is also the author of Not Fcking Ready To Adult: A Totally Ill-informed Guide to Life*, published by HarperCollins, which extends the same relatable, self-aware comic voice that audiences know from his stand-up and television work.
