Sophie is a rising star of British comedy and one of the most exciting acts on the circuit today. She’s a Taskmaster champion, has appeared on shows such a Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week, and her debut Edinburgh Fringe up show, Venus, saw her nominated for the highly prestigious Best Newcomer award.
Bio
Sophie Duker is a comedian and writer whose favourite things include breaking hearts, taking names and telling jokes with the confidence of a cis straight middle-class white man. Describing herself as a “sexy-cerebral comedy underdog”, Sophie is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting acts on the circuit.
She has appeared on Live at The Apollo (BBC2), Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4) and Hypothetical (Dave) and was a regular guest on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2). Sophie also won the 13th series of Taskmaster (Channel 4).
Her Edinburgh Fringe Show, Venus, saw her nominated for the Best Newcomer award and gained critical acclaim and five star reviews, leading to a two week sold out run at Soho Theatre. Each of her three solo shows since have enjoyed total sellout runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (with multiple extra shows added).
Sophie has won various accolades over the course of her career, including Entertainer of the Year (Pink News), Best Comedy Writer (Funny Women) and nearly-Champion-of-Champions (Taskmaster). She was also one of eight comedians selected for the Just For Laughs’ International New Faces line up in Montreal in 2022.
She is also the host of the monthly comedy night, Wacky Racists Comedy Club, and is the host of the official TV companion podcast to I May Destroy You (BBC), Obsessed With… I May Destroy You on BBC Sounds.

Her quick wit and outstanding stage presence make her a perfect choice for both hosting awards ceremonies and after-dinner cabaret, as well as being a highly sought-after speaker and panellist for EDI events.
She has also hosted, spoken and performed at numerous LGBTQI+ events and is consistently praised for her openness and humour that she brings to them.
