Chris Ramsey

Posted on 18 June 2019

Chris is one of the most exciting comedy acts today. With two series of The Chris Ramsey Show (Comedy Central UK) firmly under his belt, his high-energy delivery, hugely engaging manner and off-the-cuff style have cemented him a place as regular face on entertainment shows such as Celebrity Juice (ITV2), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC3) and Virtually Famous (E4). As well as these, Chris has hosted Stand Up Central (Comedy Central) and appeared on Drunk History (Comedy Central), Celebrity Squares (ITV) Benchmark (C4) & Time Crashers (C4). Chris has also starred in two series of the popular BBC Two sitcom Hebburn.

As a stand-up he is in demand on television with appearances on Live at The Apollo (BBC), The John Bishop Show (BBC), Live at the Comedy Store (Comedy Central) and most recently The Royal Variety Performance (ITV).

Following sell-out runs of his last four UK tours The Most Dangerous Man on Sat Morning Television, Feeling Lucky and the critically acclaimed 2011 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award-Nominated show Offermation and All Growed Up, Chris is currently touring the UK with his brand new 106 date stand-up tour Chris Ramsey Live 2018: The Just Happy To Get Out of the House Tour, which encompasses some of the greatest life advice ever to be recorded in the history of the world (hopefully), as Chris sets out the rules of modern existence for his infant son.

“Just wanted to say that Chris was absolutely fantastic last night. His set was spot on and he did a brilliant job hosting the awards part with Honest John. I couldn’t have asked for better – he was worth every penny. Thoroughly nice chap as well. I did say a big thank you to him, but wanted to let you know how delighted I was as well.” Honest John Awards

“Chris was great last week! He went down a storm with the client and all of the guests! Both Chris and Rhys are lovely guys and they were happy to stick around for a while after wards for photos and chatting to the guests, which is really appreciated.” Vodafone Annual Business Update

The 5th series of his show Dave Gorman: Modern Life is Goodish (Dave) finished airing in December 2017 and was yet another spectacular ratings success. The series takes a mischievous look at modern life with Dave sharing his observations and venting his frustrations using his own blend of stand up, visual story-telling and real-world experimentation.

In 2011, he returned to Edinburgh with his show Dave Gorman’s Powerpoint Presentation, and toured the country with the same show in the autumn. Dave also spent autumn 2009 touring the country with his show Sit Down, Pedal, Pedal, Stop, and Stand Up, which was extended into 2010 due to popular demand and recorded for DVD. Dave’s tales of travelling the world in his one man shows, Are You Dave Gorman? (which later became the television series The Dave Gorman Collection) and Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack Adventure have dazzled live audiences and broken box office records across the globe, establishing Dave as one of the hottest live international performers. Dave has also had a phenomenal track record with his books Are You Dave Gorman? and Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack Adventure, that climbed to number one in the Sunday Times non-fiction Bestsellers List in 2004. He released his third book America Unchained in 2008 and in 2011, he brought out his fourth Dave Gorman vs the Rest of the World. His fifth book, Too Much Information, was released in 2014.

In 2006, Dave appeared as a team captain on the second series of Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive (BBC Three) and has appeared on The Daily Show, filming six segments with Jon Stewart (More 4). His 90 minute documentary, Dave Gorman in America Unchained broadcast on More 4 in 2008 delivering more than six times the channel’s average viewing figures for the slot. The film also won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature at the Austin film festival.

Dave has made TV appearances on The Late Show With David Letterman (CBS), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), The Frank Skinner Show (ITV1), Absolutely Fabulous (BBC One), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two), They Think It’s All Over (BBC One) and acted in Steve Coogan’s feature film 24 Hour Party People. He has also appeared on popular BBC radio shows such as Wordaholics, Dilemma, It’s Not What You Know, Infinite Monkey Cage and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars.

Dave hosted his own radio show every Sunday morning on Absolute Radio between 2009 and 2012 and his popular radio show Genius for BBC Radio 4 was also made into two successful television series for BBC Two.
